AREAS OF PRIVATE STUDY AND AVAILABLE WORKSHOPS AS OF FEB 2010:

  1. Jazz Piano, Improvisation, and Rhythm Program. Material from my books (published and unpublished) presented in hour long weekly lessons.
  2. Jazz Improvisation Skills for all melody instruments. Your skill level is evaluated and assessed. Improvement program is implemented.
  3. Adult Hobbyist learn music as a supplement to your good life for fun and enjoyment without the stress of a college class or professional goal.
  4. Technology class-Learn how to do tracks for vocal or instrumental productions on your home keyboard and computer.How to use Finale, Garage Band, Protools, Logic, electric keyboards, microphones, live instruments, iPods, mp3 players.
  5. Music Production techniques.: Learn the process of taking your song from your idea to a final production ready to release as a recording artist.
  6. Singer/Songwriter coaching and demo service. Your skill level is evaluated. Ideas are presented to you to improve your vocal and instrumental skills. You can also choose our studio to record your music.
  7. Stylistic Studies Learn how to play in a particular style. Styles offered are Pop, Rock, Jazz, Church, Country, Blues, Classical, and R&B.
  8. Hit Artist studies Learn how to play like your personal musical heros. Study Billy Joel, Elton John, Tori Amos, Alicia Keyes, Chick Corea, Dave Brubeck, George Shearing, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, etc.
  9. Music Business lessons One hour sessions. Show up with your questions and have them answered. Topics covered are starting a band, starting a record company, starting a publishing company, touring, dealing with investors, making a living doing music, and whatever else your questions are.

ROB MULLINS TEACHING LOCATIONS

I use two studios in the West Los Angeles area. You will come to my studios for your lessons. I do not travel to lessons unless they are part of a workshop at a music school. The addresses to the studios will be given to you when you apply to my privatelessons program.

STUDENT SKILL LEVELS REQUIRED

I DO take adult beginners, professional musicians, public or private school teachers, junior high and high school musicians already started in their school program or referred by other teachers.
I DON'T take any child beginners. If you need a recommendation for a beginning level piano teacher for your kids, I will make a recommendation.

con-tact@planetmullins.com. We will add you as soon as we speak to you and schedule your first lesson. As of February 2010, there are two openings on Thursday afternoons, and two openings on Friday afternoon, as well as one opening on Saturday morning. Open times are subject to change without notice.
